Transforming how you feel about yourself and your relationship.

How long is each appointment and how many sessions will be needed?

Most appointments are scheduled for one hour.  The amount of sessions needed is on a case by case basis as each individual or couple case is different as clients bring a variety of issues.  It also depends on whether clients can make regular appointments to keep up the momentum and transfer any learning/insight into their lives outside of the therapy session.  Clients accessing relationship counselling may find that they are close to reaching their goals of therapy by around 6-10 sessions, some sooner. For those accessing a sex therapy programme or emotional eating programme, this can be longer, e.g. 10-20 sessions.  For email counselling and scheduled live chat the length of therapy will be considered on a case by case basis depending on your respective aims.

It is perfectly normal, however in any type of counselling to experience ups and downs.  There is no quick fix and usually counselling addresses issues that may have been evident or entrenched for some time but it can also be a transforming experience for many clients.
